workers’ compensation Physical/Occupational Therapy Evaluation And Treatment

We also take the time to address any additional contributing factors. We know that injuries do not happen in isolation. The whole body and person must be assessed for a safe and effective return to work.

Many of our Therapists have worked onsite and have been through our Job Site Analysis training. They know how physical your job can be and understand the demands of your work.

Physical therapy and/or occupational therapy evaluation for work-related injuries can be performed at your company (in select cases) or our clinic.

If the injury is work-related, our treatments will be guided by the physical demands obtained during the Job Site Analysis process to make sure our plan aligns with your job.

Work Hardening/ Conditioning

To improve strength, endurance, and overall job-related activity tolerance to allow the employee to perform at their highest level.

Fit-for-Duty, Return-to-Work and Return-to-Duty Testing

To assess your ability to safely perform essential functions of the job before returning to the work environment.

These tests help prevent reinjury and address fears associated with returning to work.

Return to Work testing can be used to help determine if an employee is ready to:

  • Determine if an employee can return to work after an injury

  • Prevent re-injury by identifying specific physical and task-related areas of opportunity and developing a work hardening or conditioning program to address these areas and set the employee up for long-term success.

Fit-for-Duty testing assesses the employee’s ability to perform essential job functions safely anytime someone is observed working unsafely or if there is a safety concern.

Functional Capacity Evaluation

To Identify your maximum capacity through a Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE).

This 4-8 hour evaluation uses a series of tests to identify a person’s physical skills, functional capacity, task endurance, and work tolerance.

The test is administered by a physical therapist or occupational therapist specifically trained to evaluate and observe the employee's effort during this test.

Specific work tasks may be simulated during the FCE to evaluate if the employee can return safely, assist with return-to-work restrictions, or determine if there is a need for accommodations.

A comprehensive report is also provided to the referring physicians and any other necessary entities (lawyer, insurance adjustor, case manager, etc.)
